So I’m currently living in Coco Beach which is dominated by MTT regs. These guys are super talented and I’ve become interested in the idea of transitioning into their world. As nice as it is to have a heavily consistent income in HU SNG’s, it’s hard to argue with the idea of juggling both. Right now I’m seeking out staking for part time play, and am hoping to draw some interest. The issue being that I don’t have much full ring/tournament experience. I’m a 20kish 6-max winner lifetime and 400k+ in HU sng’s, but I don’t have any major tournament scores under my belt. So I can understand the view that I’d be somewhat of a gamble initially. However I think with the level of talent around me that my chances of success are pretty high. So today marks the day I’ve been officially confirmed by pokerstars by phone in Costa Rica. My account should be reinstated within the next couple of days and I’ll be back! I’m extremely excited, it’s been a tough 8 months of grinding low stakes and sadly going through most of my reserve funds. This is a great opportunity to rebuild, the timing couldn’t be better. Memphis -2(-120) on the road against Golden State and Minnesota -2(-120) at home against Houston. I’ll go into detail in the morning about the reasoning behind these picks. Add Phoenix +6 in Dallas with Dirk out.

I have a theory that I’m going to put into the works. Lately I’ve been working out of a downswing. I’ve unfortunately run about $900ish under EV over the last two weeks. Today was the first day out of the hole showing a +150 profit over those last two weeks now. Yes I’ve been running bad, but I also have been trying to do WAYYYY to much creatively. My idea is to put a note on my computer screen of leaks I feel need correcting. This way I’ll have a constant reminder while I’m playing of what I should or shouldn’t be doing. Hopefully this works! Anyways, clearly my sports betting hasn’t been going as planned. It has however, been a fun experience attempting to accumulate the proper information to make profitable plays. I’m going to accumulate all the stats that I can in relation to the NBA and see if I can come up with reasonable instinctual power rankings in certain situations. I’ll attempt to rank teams in certain categories. Whether it be Back to Backs at home or 3 games in 4 nights on the road etc. We’ll see how it goes. This information is readily available, but I’d like to get a broader picture with a few more pieces of information available. Good luck to anyone playing and/or Sports betting!

P.S. Play for tomorrow looks like Portland -6.5. McMillan recently called out the team for being soft and they put up a solid showing in Atlanta yesterday whom I rate highly when they display max effort. Bargnani looks to be out again and their offense sputters without him. The other side of this is the fact that Toronto will be better rested as they were beaten down by the Celtics early so the starters got more rest. They also play pretty well at home, so it’ll take a quality game out of Portland to cover.

Update: Poor ref assignment for our pick with Tony Brothers, Leroy Richardson and Zach Zarba. All have elevated home team win % and point differential bias. I got in at -6 with extra juice, not sure if it’s +EV at -7 or 6 1/2 at this point. Although it could be a non-factor given the large difference in talent and motivation.

So we went 1-4 last night. Yieeee! Not good. Thank god I’m attempting this whole “professional sports betting” thing with a tiny bankroll. I began this test with a $100 bankroll and we’re down to $40 at this point. Now I had the idea to keep proper bankroll management, but I’m gambling against the team that’s been responsible for us not being broke yet. Washington’s abysmal showing thus far has been the only thing keeping this bankroll afloat. I haven’t been doing nearly enough research on these recent picks and need to put in more hours of analysis before getting them in. So we’re loading up on OKC tonight -11. This should be a tough road cover, but Washington’s been playing like a d-league team aside from John Wall and Trevor Booker lately. We also have a more rational pick of Minnesota -8 at home against Detroit who are on a back to back. Both accuscore and a new site I’ve discovered have this as an easy cover for Minnesota who’ve been pretty nasty since inserting Rubio into the starting lineup. Good luck us!

Tonight we’re rolling the dice with professional Handicappers on two college games. Auburn +8.5 and Purdue -10. My knowledge of college basketball is minimal at best, so these are pure trust picks. In the NBA However I’ve got a couple of picks I like. From what I’ve read/listened too this morning handicappers like Golden State tonight. I’m being bold and going with Cleveland @ -2. Their main argument is the long road trip Cleveland just got off of and being down Anthony Parker. I’m a Ramon Session fan though, and think this could actually benefit them tonight. We’ll see. I also took the Bucks +3 @ home against Denver. While I like Denver, Milwaukee is tough at home. So the fact that their a home underdog makes me like the pick even more. We’ll see if they can defend their territory off a back to back, if not we’ll take that information into consideration for later picks. I’m also a fan of the over in the Detroit, Houston game tonight. After watching Houston give up 106 to Washington and 38 to John Wall live and seeing the deficiency in their defense, I think this is an easy cover at over 189. Just have two plays tonight, Bucks -8 @ home vs Detroit and Pheonix -7 @ home vs Cleveland. Pretty large line on offensively challenge Milwaukee, but hopefully Stephen Jackson can carry the load again. Like how Phoenix has been playing aside from how the LA game finished up.
